Kejadian ini berawal dari lemparan kemasan air mineral ke petugas kepolisian yang berjaga.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eDalam mengantisipasi kericuhan yang lebih besar, pihak kepolisian menembakkan gas air mata ke arah kerumunan massa.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e&#8221;Kami ingin Direktur beserta pimpinan PT. Timah turun dan temui kami langsung, atau kami yang memaksa masuk ke dalam (kantor PT. Timah-red),&#8221; ujar salah satu peserta aksi massa yang enggan disebutkan namanya, Senin (06\/10\/25).<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e&#8221;Kami ingin kepastian bagaimana nasib kami kedepan, kami tersisih di tanah kelahiran kami sendiri,&#8221; timpal peserta aksi lainnya.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eNahasnya, beberapa anak kecil yang ikut kerumunan massa pun ikut terkena imbas.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200e&#8221;Makkk, pulanggg,&#8221; ucap salah satu anak kecil itu, sembari menangis.<br \/>\n\u200e<br \/>\n\u200eSebagai informasi, saat ini ribuan massa dari berbagai daerah masih berkumpul di seputaran kantor PT Timah, diperkirakan jumlah massa akan semakin bertambah dari Kabupaten Bangka Selatan dan daerah lainnya.
